| The Crossing Stone Cafe

| The cafe sits exactly in the center of what once was the lobby of this renovated hotel. Most of the floor consists of a dark grey marble, however new flooring has been inlaid where the cafe sits. A beautiful mosaic of a sun comprised wholly of stained and natural teak wood is the focal point of the cafe and defines it's borders. The center part of the sun itself is a dark natural teak and is 600 feet from center point in all directions. Tracing the border rides the bar. Completely round, the bar itself is nice and wide and made of the same dark teak boasting copper metal fixtures. There are four entrances to the bar and four stations; North, South, East, West. Directly in the center and flowing out for 300 ft in all directions is a small kitchen. The kitchen is the only enclosed part of the cafe. A partial wall rising 8 ft surrounds it. There are four entrances to the kitchen that correspond with the bar stations. It should be noted, that the kitchen is primarily used for simple heating and cold storage. The Bar Stations Each bar station is fully equipped to provide the drinks or food offered. Along the wall sits two kegs, positioned one above the other, then shelving and some counter space. The inner core of each bar is a series of shelves lined with glasses and coffee mugs ranging in different sizes. The Seating Based on the sun theme the tables are small and reminiscent of those found outside of small cafes in France. Each table seats three respectively and is round. The chairs range from metal worked to wicker high backed depending in which region one is sitting. Each table is clothed and a small vase with flowers sits in the center. It should be noted that while the majority of the tables are within the radius of the teak sunbeam flooring, there are other places to sit in the Crossing Stone. In fact the mugs and glasses are a small part of the purchase and can leave the building. |
